# Managing assets

> Save, organize, preview, reorder, rename, and comment on the media you generate.

## Filing a result

<Frame caption="Choosing a destination dataset">

</Frame>

| Action                     | Where                       | What it does                                     |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Save to Idea** | Result menu, workspace only | Attaches the asset to the current idea |
| **Set as Idea cover** | Result menu | Makes it the idea's cover image |
| **Create idea from image** | Result menu | Creates a new idea with this image attached |
| **Save to asset library** | Canvas node toolbar | Files a canvas node's media into a dataset |
| **Move to** | Asset menu | Moves between datasets — removed from the source |
| **Copy to** | Asset menu | Adds to the target and keeps the original |

**Move to** and **Copy to** open a tree picker where you select the destination dataset. Both work
on a multi-selection, and report how many items were moved or copied.

<Note>
  Moving an asset that is the source dataset's cover promotes another image to cover automatically.

## Preview

<Frame caption="The asset preview dialog">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/wji/1nwL1jaWRdmAhYLq/images/image-generation/asset-preview-01.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=1nwL1jaWRdmAhYLq&q=85&s=f268c9026818354fe5335f8a5fa37350" alt="Asset preview dialog with the image, the info panel showing generation details, and the comments tab" width="1600" height="900" data-path="images/image-generation/asset-preview-01.png" />
</Frame>

Six different preview surfaces exist, each suited to a different job.

| Preview                  | Opens from                        | Good for                                                  |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Lightbox** | Clicking an image | Quick look, arrow-key paging, zoom |
| **Asset preview dialog** | The eye icon, thumbnails, history | Everything — info, generation details, comments, reuse |
| **Dataset preview** | A canvas dataset node | Reviewing and reordering a set, editing its fields inline |
| **Bundle preview** | A canvas bundle node | Enabling, disabling, renaming, and reordering members |
| **Panorama viewer**      | A panorama node                   | 360° viewing                                              |
| **Gallery view** | Idea detail | Full-screen browsing with keyboard navigation |

<Warning>
  The lightbox is for images only. Video deliberately does not use it, because clicking would
  trigger a download instead of playing.
</Warning>

The **asset preview dialog** is the one worth knowing well. It carries basic info, file details,
full generation details, both prompts with copy buttons, the references used, tags, comments,
likes, inline renaming, and **Use for generation again**.

## Reordering

Nine different lists support drag-to-reorder, and they persist in different places:

| List                             | Persists as                         |
| -------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| Datasets in the sidebar | The folder's child order |
| Datasets in the asset library | The parent's child order |
| Assets inside a dataset          | The dataset's image order           |
| Assets inside a bundle           | The bundle node's asset order       |
| Canvas generation references | The order of the node's connections |
| Reference cards in the generator | The submitted reference array |
| Director bar clips | The timeline |
| Storyboard builder shots         | The builder's selection             |

<Note>
  In the generator, only references of the **same media type** can be reordered against each other.
</Note>

## Renaming, tagging, and deleting

Rename inline at the top of the asset preview dialog, or in its info panel. Tags are added in the
same panel — type and press Enter.

Delete from the asset menu, the sidebar thumbnail popover, or the idea detail view. Deleting a
single asset asks for confirmation; deleting a multi-selection tells you how many will go.

## Comments and likes

Both live in the asset preview dialog, and both depend on the workspace allowing them. Hovering a
like shows who liked it and when. See [Viewer access](/workspaces/viewer-access).

## AI description

**Describe image**, **Describe video**, or **Describe audio** runs AI over the asset and returns a
written description you can copy. On the canvas, the same feature creates a text node from the
result.
