# Switching context

> Move between your personal space and an organization.

Open the profile menu at the top right. The **Current identity** section at the top lists your
personal space and every organization you belong to, with your role in each.

Clicking one switches to it. **The page reloads** and takes you to the workspace list — this is
deliberate, so nothing is left holding data from the previous identity.

Your choice is remembered, so opening WJI later puts you back in the same context.

## What changes when you switch

<Columns cols={2}>
  <Card title="What you can see" icon="eye">
    Workspaces, conversations, agents, and asset groups are filtered to the current identity.
    Personal work is invisible inside an organization, and vice versa.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Who pays" icon="credit-card">
    Personal context spends your own wallet. Organization context spends the organization's pool and
    counts against your personal limit inside it.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Which models you get" icon="microchip">
    Organization context uses the organization's model entitlements. **Your personal VIP benefits do
    not apply** while you are in an organization.
  </Card>

  <Card title="What the credit badge shows" icon="coins">
    Your spendable allowance inside the organization, rather than your wallet balance.
  </Card>
</Columns>

<Note>
  Your personal wallet page shows a banner when you are in an organization, reminding you that the
  balance and top-ups there are personal, while work inside the organization draws on the
  organization's pool.
</Note>

## Opening a link from another context

If you open a link to an organization workspace while in a different context, WJI switches you
automatically rather than showing an error.

## When access goes away

If you are removed from an organization, or the organization is disabled, your next request fails
and WJI moves you back to your personal space with a message saying the organization identity is no
longer valid. The organization disappears from your profile menu.

There is no dedicated page explaining this — you are simply returned to your personal workspace list.

## Trying to reach the wrong thing

Requesting a resource that belongs to another identity is refused with a message telling you to
switch organization first. This is a safety net, not something you should hit in normal use.
