Build with AI is the fastest way to fill an empty workspace. Give it an outline, a script, or just a premise, and it produces characters, locations, props, and shots as saved ideas. Open it from the AI generate button in the left toolbar.

What you give it

1

A reference (optional)

Pick an existing outline or screenplay from this workspace. The dropdown lists ideas whose type is outline or screenplay.
2

A premise (optional)

Type the idea in the story inspiration box.
3

Or a file

Upload .docx, .pdf, .txt, .md, or an image. You can drag files in or paste them.

What you get back

Build with AI dialog with the reference selector, inspiration box, and the six output checkboxes

Choosing what Build with AI should produce

Choose which outputs you want. All six are selected by default. Choosing Shots adds a shot-count field. Leave it at 0 to let the AI decide how many there should be.

Two ways to run it

Runs everything end to end and shows you the results when it is done. Use this when you trust the input and want a first draft fast.

Reviewing before you save

Editable results table with per-card toggles, a target folder selector, and status badges

Reviewing results before they are saved

Nothing is written to your workspace until you approve it. The results panel is an editable table:
  • Toggle individual cards on and off
  • Edit the name, description, details, and directing notes
  • Choose the target folder, and create a new folder inline if you need one
  • Add cards the AI did not think of
  • For shots, fill in shot number, shot size, camera movement, angle, and duration
Each card carries a status badge — pending, processing, running, completed, or failed. When you save, ideas are filed automatically into the folder matching their type.
Re-running Build with AI over the same material creates new ideas. It does not update the ones you already saved.
